"The workshop was absolutely relevant and even taught me a few new things too. We have a high percentage of SEN and they all stayed engaged. There were different drama activities [which] kept the children engaged. Accessible for all abilities. Lots of repetition so children could retain info. Definitely [would book again] and would recommend others too."

"The workshop fitted in very well with our travel and transport topic. The children learnt about the names and dates of different inventions and who was responsible.
This was pitched very appropriately at the Year Two age group, and it was well paced and engaging. I liked the chronological approach and that the children could join in with all the activities and have their own ideas. The hot air balloon activity was great!
[What could be improved on] It was all great!
We would book again, we thought it was an engaging way to start a topic.
It was very much enjoyed, I am sure we will want to book it again for next year."

The workshop is extremely well paced for our Year One children. The children have been able to use their existing knowledge and take it further. The children were fascinated by the instructors who were both knowledgeable and entertaining. The workshop has been seamless and well paced. The children have enjoyed moving from one story to the next. The stories have been engaging and the workshop is well suited to the audience.

The children really enjoyed the Roald Dahl workshop. We have been reading George's marvellous medicine in class so the link with this was brilliant. The facilitators were brilliant. They had a good understanding of how to hold the children's attention, lots of movement breaks, great activities. [We liked] the drama that the children created at the front - it was lovely that the children were the stars of the show. [Improvements] Very good - nothing! Would yes, definitely book again. The children had learned about Victorian schools and houses. New input was Queen Victoria and workhouses. They [directors] were excellent. We liked the true/false game at the end. The workshop was perfectly pitched for this age group. The children were fully engaged the whole time. It really brought Victorians to life for them. Thanks also for being so flexible with last minute changes!

She was engaging straight from the start and was very accommodating with all the children in the class. I just wanted to say, on behalf of the Year 1 team, a huge thank you for hosting the virtual history workshops on Friday. As I'm sure you could see, the children were very engaged and participated enthusiastically in the interactive activities. We were really pleased with how well it ran virtually and a really big well done as it really isn't easy captivating young children for an hour online! The session was a lovely end to their learning about The Great Fire of London and it was a beneficial way for them to combine all of their learning and re-enact parts. They have loved learning lots of new facts and have taken their interests home too and some have been doing extra research! Once again thank you ever so much and we hope to book you again next year, either virtually or in person!

The workshop helped them empathise with the characters more and improve their acting skills. The girls were really engaged and found it fun, a backdrop and props were set up beforehand. The workshop met a lot of the Yr 2 curriculum, very relevant. Brought topic to life. [The facilitators] were very well prepared. Both with resources/knowledge and script. Children found it very engaging.
The children liked "the time machine," "the snoring maid," "learning about poo in the streets," "shouting at the mayor."
The teacher liked "the idea of the fire spreading with pom poms and water and building houses with body."
I would absolutely book another workshop with you. It was great fun and very knowledgeable. Especially needed in current COVID times.

It was great context for our new topic "Passport to Europe." The workshop was adapted for lower ability - giving children an introduction to the context of different continents. [The facilitator] Understood the needs of the class (more role play than other classes.) Excitement was generated about the new topic- children loved the props and the role play around their countries. Whitley Park's first visit from you and will recommend to other teachers - thank you!

The workshop was completely tailored to the children’s learning needs, and suitable to their level of learning. I can also confirm that the children have transferred the knowledge and skills learned to their writing in class. Many of the play script scene ones that I read this morning included the phrase- Do you bite your thumb at me Sir? The workshop directors were extremely well prepared, resourced and used a range of drama techniques with the children, which is something we are working on in school. They engaged the children well in drama activities, and even got some of the less confident actors involved, which gave them the opportunity to shine. I loved how all of the children were involved in the workshop, and how they had the opportunity to perform their drama scenes to other year groups. Thank you for a wonderful learning experience.

What the children discovered about Roald Dahl will be useful and aid their writing a story in the future. The facilitators engaged the children thoroughly, they were knowledgeable with regards to the workshop theme. I felt the children were given a great oportunity to explore their imaginations and create an opportunity for further creative writing whilst having fun.

The workshop was amazing. The ladies tailored it to our focus text but taught us new facts along the way too. Both directors were fab the children loved them but equally their behaviour management was strong. I could take off my teaching hat and just watch the fun! I liked the opener with facilitator in role, the scenery and the props added to the fun. As a drama teacher myself I genuinely can't think of anything to improve. I have had many moments in the past when a company came in and I thought they could have been better but today really was brilliant. Please come back again!

It was very relevant, we had not covered quite as many facts and dates. The children loved becoming volcano experts. The director had great knowledge, some really interesting facts we hadn't covered in class. The workshop was so engaging that even the most challenging children were enthused to participate. I can't think of an improvement - the children loved every second. Thank you so much. The workshop was completely relevant and taught the boys things about RD's life that they may not have known about. There was lots of acting and questioning throughout the acitivity. All the children were engaged in the workshop and everything was well prepared. The children built on their current knowledge of Roald Dahl and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The teaching assistants were present in the workshops and they enjoyed seeing the different characters that were acted out by the leaders and the children. The whole performance was engaging and the boys enjoyed it. The behavior management was also perfect. The children loved dressing up as the characters.

It was so relevant to our twisted fairy tale topic. It taught them drama skills. We loved the jokes, the different characters and the links to lots of stories.

The children got a practical experience of the topic, it was very lively and entertaining. I liked the practical aspect of bringing the topic to life.

The girls were well prepared and very engaging and the high level of interaction really got students excited about the stories. The workshop was well run, the performers were great with the children and were very energetic. Thank you - my year two class loved it.

The workshop was very relevant to story writing and exploring characters. Good pace and very engaging, taught enthusiastically. I thought it gave children good opportunities to be involved in different practical activities. Thank you - the class really enjoyed it.

The children performed using expression, in role as characters, we liked the exaggerated characters. The directors had great resources and props and there was an opportunity for all the children to be involved. I would book again yes.

It was great for consolidating what the children already knew about George's marvellous medicine and for giving clues about the end of the story. We liked the range of activities for the children - plenty of movement as well as watching and great links for story writing. Children loved it, thank you!!

It reinforced the story and brought it to "life." We enjoyed it all, especially how the children's ideas made a story at the end. Excellent!
